Self-propelled ANTEA guarantees accurate feed ration on every mix
KUHN Farm Machinery has launched the ANTEA Intense 2.CL self-propelled diet feeder, combining semi-autonomous loading and mixing of material to achieve the perfect ration. The new machine replaces the SPW Intense models and is available in four sizes – 19, 22, 25 and 27m 3 – all featuring twin augers. The ANTEA Intense 2.CL is aimed at large farms and contractors – feeding between 150-300 cows depending on ration volume – who require precise ration mix and delivery to maximise the return on investment from each animal. A 200hp milling head feeds an 800mm wide conveyor for high throughput of material to the mixing area, where a new Librafeed integrated weighing system links the ration constituents to the machines’ set-up . Operators can assign parameters to individual rations or ingredients, such as milling and mixing speed, counter knife operation and mixing duration. Ration control on the Librafeed system can be monitored and altered from a smartphone or computer, alongside report generation to influence the right nutritional decisions. Sam Alford, KUHN’s grassland and livestock product marketing specialist, says the Librafeed system will benefit operators and managers alike. “It is a similar system to that used on the autonomous AURA mixer, which will save operators time and reduce running costs for multiple ingredient rations. For example, the counter knives may be required for longer material such as straw and silage but need to be retracted for fine powders or lighter materials. Without operator involvement, the ANTEA adjusts to suit the material being loaded, helping to reduce manual adjustments and improve mixing times.”
The cab is KUHN’s e-Visiospace designed to maximise internal room, user environment and visibility. Direction of travel is controlled by the floor pedal, allowing the integration of more controls to the multifunction joystick, with loading, mixing and distribution of the ration controlled using this. Users get a 14” colour touchscreen for machine readouts, ration monitoring, and external camera inputs. Unloading the ration can either be to the left or right and optional conveyor offset or rear discharge chutes can be added, while the machine has a four-wheel steering design for a turning radius of 6.53m.
Users requiring additional longevity from wearing parts can choose the Platinum pack for K-NOX coating of the mixing augers, mixing tub liners, milling head drum and milling bucket. The addition of carbide K-NOX treatment provides six times greater longevity compared with standard steel parts. Powering the ANTEA is a Volvo six-cylinder, stage 5 engine, which is standard with a variable speed reversible fan and longer maintenance intervals for reduced downtime. The engine is also rear mounted to allow 75% of the machine’s weight to sit above the axles, contributing to better traction and speed than previous models.
The ANTEA range comes standard for five years with KUHN CONNECT for users to view loading, mixing and distribution durations, along with fuel consumption data, all accessible through the MY KUHN dashboard.
The ANTEA will be available in the UK from early 2027.
